The Homemade Stall needs You! – Sun 3 July, 10.45-11.15am in the hall: We had a tremendous response to our request for help for the Jubilee Homemade Stall. Thank you! We made £225 which was excellent. Do please consider whether you can make or grow anything for the stall this Sunday and do bring your purses. Please remember we do not have a Homemade Stall in August, so the next one after this will be on Sun 4 Sept. If you have an hour or two spare most months, and would like to be part of the team leading the Homemade Stall, do please have a chat with one of us on Sunday.
The Bereavement Café – Wed 6 July, 10-11.30am: This runs on the first Wednesday of every month in the hall. If you have been affected by bereavement, do come and join us; you’ll find good company, a listening ear, excellent coffee and homemade cakes. See you next Wed, and again on 3 Aug.
Messy Church – Fri 8 July, 3.30-5.30pm: Messy Church meets on the second Friday of every month and is for all the family! We look forward to seeing you there!

Parish Away Day – Sat 3 Sept: We had great feedback from those who came last year. We’re preparing a fun and relaxing day for people of all ages to enjoy spending the day together with good food, fantastic entertainment and wonderful company with one another. We are conscious of our British summer and finding a local venue that offers indoor and outdoor space has been a challenge. We’ll confirm the venue very soon, but please pencil the date in your diary if you haven’t already done so.
Heritage Weekend – Sat 10 Sept: Heritage Open Day is England’s largest festival of history and culture, bringing together over 2,000 local people and organisations and thousands of volunteers. Every September thousands of people come together across England to celebrate their heritage, community and history. St. Mary’s is taking part on Sat 10 Sept and so is Fetcham Park House. Last year we had hundreds of visitors and we need a considerable team of folk to help with this. If you would like to know more please speak with Sarah Mackay or David Slater. Do please step up, even if you only have an hour to spare.
Ride and Stride – Sat 10 Sept: If you would like to spend a very enjoyable day walking or cycling around some of our beautiful local churches, whilst raising money for the Surrey Churches Preservation Trust, have a word with Sarah Mackay on Sunday and take a sponsor form. Half the money raised comes back to us at St. Mary’s and it’s a great day. What’s not to like?
Last Night of the Proms – Sat 10 Sept: Another date for the diary! We’re really looking forward to being able to run this event again. We had a great evening in 2019, enjoying hospitality and singing our heads off whilst watching the Last Night of the Proms. Despite this being a busy weekend for the church, we plan to host this live TV program again. A great way to let your hair down and enjoy a fab evening together. Watch out for more details.
The Well: “If anyone thirsts, let him come to Me and drink’. At the end of another busy week, it was wonderful to attend the first evening of ‘The Well’. A quiet reflective space, allowing us to draw closer to God by listening to scripture, prayer and music. Thanks so much to Nanas and Brigitte for creating a space for us to encounter God through His Holy Spirit. The Well will be back on Sun 9 Oct and 27 Nov.
Cakes Mixer needed: Has anyone got a cake mixer not being used anymore that would like to have a new home in the hall kitchen? Please let the Parish Office know. Thank you.
Community Coffee Shop: Mondays 10-11.30am: Do pop along to St Mary’s Community Coffee Shop in the church hall every Monday. Continuing throughout the summer (except Bank Holidays) running alongside the Community Fridge. There’s coffee, a selection of teas, individually wrapped biscuits and delicious cake from COOK. The team look forward to welcoming you soon, whether you are just visiting the coffee shop, or fridge, or both!
