DEC Appeal for Pakistan: The DEC has now launched an appeal for those affected by the floods in Pakistan. Estimates suggest one third of the country is under water, a million homes destroyed, 2 million acres of crops and 800,000 farm animals destroyed, 1000 people killed and worse to come. We will have the orange buckets in church for the next few weeks should you wish to donate anything toward their appeal.
Parish Away Day – Sat 3 Sept, 12-5pm: We are looking forward to spending a great time together at Manor House School – Manor House Lane, Little Bookham, KT23 4EN. We are hugely grateful to the school for making their beautiful facilities available to us.
Please bring your own picnic, chairs, rugs and stay for as much of the day as you can. The grounds are stunning with a garden at the front of the house for picnics and the bouncy castle, a variety of playgrounds for the younger children to play in (supervised by parents, please) and lots of areas for garden games and summer sports, including tennis courts!
We’ve even booked an ice cream van to come at about 3pm! The weather forecast’s good but we also have access to the main hall and the refectory should the weather be inclement. Please pop an extra garden chair or two in the car in case somebody forgets (surely not!) or has insufficient for their party.
Thank you if you’ve offered to bring a cake – please make a note of the ingredients. Any leftover cakes can be enjoyed at coffee on Sunday or sold on the Homemade stall. NB: Please leave dogs at home!

My Rotas Unavailability: Thank you to those who have entered their unavailability on ChurchSuite. It really does make a difference when building a series of rotas. If you are involved in a rota and you haven’t already done so, please can you enter the dates you are not available from October right through to the end of January. By using My Rotas it will be easy to swap dates if you find you can’t do the ones to which you’re assigned, but first of all if you enter your unavailability that will be a great help to all the overseers. A guidance sheet is available if you have not already received one by email.
