Harvest Celebration – Sun 2 Oct,10:30am: Join us for a special harvest service to give thanks for the good gifts in our community, and the many ways we use them to serve others. Join us for a half hour celebration at Barracks Farm, Cobham Road, Fetcham followed by the opportunity to chat over a brunch of sausage and bacon rolls, cooked on the premises (gluten-free and vegetarian options available). There will also be tea, coffee and hot chocolate. Everyone is welcome, but please sign up so we have an idea of numbers. Please let us know if you have a specific dietary requirement.
As this is a working farm children must be supervised at all times. We will be located in one of the barns, but please wear suitable footwear and dress appropriately for the weather. If you would like to bring a gift of food, please feel free to do so – we will have a table available to receive donations. Fresh food will be taken to our Community Fridge the following day and non-perishable food will be donated to Foodbank. This is their wish list:

NOTE: If you are unable to attend Barracks Farm there is an opportunity to bring food donations for Foodbank and Community Fridge to the next Sunday services. Ongoing the green box outside the hall door is there all year for Foodbank donations.

Monday Morning Prayers starting Mon 3 Oct, 8-8:30am: We welcome you to join us for Morning Prayer in church from 8am to 8:30am every Monday starting from Mon 3 Oct.
Women’s Breakfast: Sat 8 Oct, 9.30-11am – We are nearly at full capacity, don’t forget to book!. Once again we are to invite ladies to our Women’s Breakfast. Along with our speaker we will offer the usual delicious breakfast for a suggested donation of £4.50. Please book through MyChurchSuite, via the website or contact the Parish Office. Church Inventory Working Party – Sat 8 Oct, 9.30 – 11.30am: There is a lot happening on the 8th, but even if you can only make some of the time, we are grateful for any volunteers to help take stock of all the items within the church and surrounding buildings. This is a necessary requirement under the Archdeacon’s Visitation and we welcome as much help as possible. Refreshments will be available. We look forward to seeing you then.
Cecilia Singers – Sat 8 Oct, 7pm: ‘Something Old, Something New, Something Jazzy, with A Touch Of Blues’. We are delighted that the Cecilia Singers will be performing at St Mary’s. This is a group of friends of all ages who love to sing a really wide range of repertoire in order to raise money for charities. Homemade and Second-hand Book Stalls – Sun 9 Oct: We usually run on the first Sunday of the month (except January and August) but we are going to be at Barracks Farm for Harvest Festival so we have moved the Homemade and Second-hand Book Stalls to Sun 9 Oct. Thank you for your continuing support of the Homemade Stall, whether you kindly supply gorgeous cakes and jams, or craft something beautiful, grow plants and vegetables to sell, or whether you turn up every month and buy loads of goodies – Thank you! Last month’s stall raised £127, which winged its way rapidly to the Centre for Urban Mission, where it will be used to support Homework Clubs and Apprenticeships in Nairobi’s slum settlements.
Prisoners Week – 11-17 Oct: For nearly 50 years, Prisons Week has encouraged Christians to pray for all those affected by crime and imprisonment. We pray for the needs of prisoners, their families, victims of offenders, prison staff and all those who care for prisoners, their families and victims. The Samaritan leper in Luke 17 inspires us all to seek what he was amazed to find when returning to thank Jesus for his healing … a new beginning. The Well – Sun 9 Oct, 6-7pm in The Lady Chapel: This is the second of the new Sunday Reflective evenings. The focus for this session is ‘God’s Presence with Us’. The Well is a pause at the end of one week and before the beginning of the next. A time to allow your heart to open towards that invisible but ever-present author of life, and to drink from the living water that meets your needs and satisfies forever. Within the Well there is music, scripture, reflection, prayer and silence. It is a safe place where all are welcome. The Well is led by Nanas Callander and Brigitte Furze. Churchyard Working Party – Sat 15 Oct, 9am-12pm: There is a change of time to the working party due to a hall booking in the afternoon. We can still get a lot of work done in the morning, so please join us to help maintain our churchyard. Come along for as much time as you can and help keep the weeds at bay, trim back overgrown hedges, tidy the car park and much more… There will be ample supply of refreshments.
Bereavement Service – Sun 30 Oct, 3pm: We shall be remembering and giving thanks for our loved ones who have died. If you would like your friend or family member to be remembered by name we will do so during the service. On arrival you can write their name(s) on a card and place it in the basket at the church entrance. We will then remember these people during the service and pray for the family. There is no obligation to write a card, only if you would find it helpful to do so. Please join us afterwards for refreshments in the church hall.
Quiz Night – Sat 12 Nov, 7:30pm: FM Life are hosting a Quiz Night on in the Church Hall. This is to raise funds for the charity Quicken Trust and specifically a young man called Shonie who the group have supported for 14 years throughout his school life. He is nearly at the end of his education and this quiz will go toward completing the funding commitment. Tickets remain the same as before at £12 per person, which includes a dessert, tea and coffee. Threads through Creation – Sat 10 Sept to Sun 16 Oct, Guildford Cathedral: See Jacqui Parkinson’s work at this new exhibition entitled Threads through Creation. This exhibition is a spectacular sequence of 12 huge textile panels. Jacqui retells the creation story in the first pages of the Bible in stunning scenes and images. The exhibition is one of the largest projects by a single artist, ever. It has taken Jacqui two years to complete. It is the follow up exhibition from the highly acclaimed Threads through Revelation, her first huge exhibition which visited 14 cathedrals including Guildford Cathedral and was seen by more than 500,000 visitors. This exhibition is free to visit. A book, guidebook and postcards available to purchase.
Oakfield Fireworks – Fri 4 Nov: The local junior school is looking for volunteers to help on the night. In particular they need a lot of marshals at the event and they absolutely cannot run an event of this nature without volunteers. Church Growth Conference with J John – Wed 16 Nov, 9:30am-3:30pm at St Paul’s Howell Hill: This full day conference is primarily intended for clergy, staff teams and PCCs, though all are welcome. Speakers include international evangelist J John who will speak on how to share our faith. Also, sessions on attracting more children, families and young people with, among others, Lucy Moore, Head of the Growing Faith Foundation and Aike Kennett-Brown, national lead for Messy Church who will share research into what makes children’s and youth ministries grow. Stephen Hance, who leads for the national church on evangelism, speaks on Growing missional disciples. To book click here

Our wardens, PCC members and Ministry Team as we seek to put into practice our vision statement of ‘Knowing Jesus, Sharing Faith and Loving Service’.
