April 6 2023

EASTER SERVICES: Join us on Maundy Thursday at 10am or 8pm.  The latter is followed by the Readings of the Watch in which the church lights are lowered and eleven candles are lit, representing the eleven faithful disciples.  Then on Good Friday you are invited to attend St Nicolas Bookham for a Reflective Service, 12noon – 3pm, which encompasses different contributions from local churches.

There are three services on Easter Day:

              6am  Dawn Service

              8am  Communion Service

              10am Easter Celebration

There is breakfast in the hall running from after the 6.00am Dawn Service until 9.30am, finishing in good time for the 10.00 Easter Celebration.   Thanks to those who have signed up and also offered to help.

Messy Church – Fri 14 April, 3:30-5:30pm:  All ages are welcome to come to Messy Church.   It starts in the church hall where we enjoy crafts, fun and messy stuff before heading into church, returning for something to eat!  If you have any questions please email families@stmarysfetcham.org.uk

Notice of APCM:  Sunday 23 April, 1pm in the Church Hall, details to follow.

Electoral Roll:  Revised annually and in conjunction with the APCM, the Roll is currently open for the addition of names.  If you’re already on the Roll you don’t need to do anything.  If you wish to join St Mary’s Electoral Roll complete and return the Electoral Roll application form (also available in church) and return it to the parish office asap.  We strongly encourage you to join the Electoral Roll which is, in effect, a list of church members.  If you have any questions regarding the APCM or the Electoral Roll, please contact office@stmarysfetcham.org.uk, one of the Churchwardens, Jennie Coles and Janet Clark, or our Electoral Roll Officer, Hazel Reid.  NB:   You cannot vote at the APCM unless your name is on the Electoral Roll.

LoveFetcham Week:  This week has been a wonderful opportunity to show our community some extra love this Easter.  Volunteers have helped with the Infant school benches, Oakfield sensory garden and litter picking.  In addition we had extra visitors to the Community Fridge, plenty of young people enjoyed our Easter trail around the village and Pouya has been running 10 miles every day!  Thanks to everyone who has helped in any way!

Rector on the Run 2023: As part of the LoveFetcham week, Pouya has been running 10 miles a day over the week, 70 miles in 7 days.  He also invited local runners to join him!  This is additional preparation for his most challenging run yet – the London 2 Brighton Ultra Challenge taking place on Sat 27 May and it’s his first ever attempt at 100k (62.2 miles).  All money raised is going back to the Fetcham community.  To find out more or to sponsor him visit : https://www.justgiving.com/fundraising/rector-on-the-run-2023
