Homemade Stall – Sun 4 June, 10.40 – 11.40am: Do come to our monthly fundraiser in aid of Homework Clubs and apprenticeships in Nairobi’s slums. If you are able to donate anything, we would be so grateful. The second hand bookstall will be running alongside as usual between 10.40 and 11.40am and the books remain out in the hall all week so you can come an browse any time you are in the hall.
Messy Church – Fri 9 June, 3:30-5:320pm: This month the theme is Eco. Everyone is welcome to join us for this form of church for children and adults that involves creativity, celebration and hospitality on the 2nd Friday of the month. Fetcham Festival – Sat 10 June, 12-4pm: This is another great opportunity for St Mary’s to have a presence at a community event. We are going to offer a second-hand book stall this year and we are looking for lots of willing volunteers to help on the day. Welcome Breakfast – Sun 11 June, 9:30-11am: We are delighted to warmly welcome all newcomers, who have not been to a previous breakfast, to meet each other and have a chat with some our church family members. Children welcome. Please park at the church and come across to the Gaskill’s house when you are ready, either before or after your usual service. Eco Sunday – Sun 11 June: The morning services will all have particular focus on Creation and our stewardship of it. There will be interactive displays in the Hall focusing on Reduce, Re-use and Recycle. Hope to see you there!
Vacancy explained – Wednesday 14th June at 7.30pm in the hall. Our Archdeacon, The Ven Martin Breadmore, is coming to St Mary’s to explain the process of going into vacancy when Pouya leaves sometime in the summer and the subsequent procedures to find our new Incumbent. All are welcome. Do please pray for Pouya and the family as they prepare for their departure to go to the US, for Martin and our meeting on the 14th and the person God is preparing and calling to come to Fetcham.
Thursday Communion, Thurs 15 June, 10am: Our midweek communion service is now held monthly on the 3rd Thursday of the month, followed by our coffee morning which runs alongside the NHS Hearing Aid Clinic. In June we are also having strawberries and cream and would welcome you to join us.

Home Groups Planning – Wed 21June, 7:30-9:00pm: Join us in the Church Hall to plan ahead together. Come if you lead a group, host a group, are curious about groups, or want to join a group. Family Fun Day – Sat 22 July, 12-4pm at Manor House School: A great chance to get together for an afternoon, and the opportunity to spend some time with the Heidari family before they leave. Please bring your own picnic food, chairs, rugs and stay for as much of the day as you can. There’s a beautiful garden at the front of the house for picnics and a bouncy castle, a variety of playgrounds for younger children to play in and lots of areas for garden games and summer sports. We will also have access to the main hall should the weather be inclement. If you can bring a cake to share, please get in touch with Corinne who would also love to hear from you if you can offer to help on the day. NB: Please leave dogs at home!
Youth invitation to Year 6’s!: This summer term, ahead of becoming the new year 7’s, the youth team would love to welcome any current year 6’s to start coming along to the various groups and activities run for young people! It’s a chance for year 6’s to get a taste of what’s happening and get to know people before moving to secondary school! (check out the newsletter to see what’s on offer). Coffee Stop @ Village Hall – Thursdays, 9-10:30am: Pop along to the Rumble Room at the Village Hall during school term time for a hot drink, something sweet and a chat. There’s a small play area for babies and toddlers and in June we have some extra focused activities. 8th – Craft & Chat, 15th Working from home coffee and chat, 22nd craft and sensory play and 29th Rhyme time. All are welcome!

Duties include dealing with clothes washing, online shopping delivery, light housework – i.e normal household jobs I am unable to do. Pay £11.95 p/hour. Could be term time only if necessary. Fetcham Festival is the village’s community summer fair. Come along and enjoy archery, bouncy castle, ‘jousting pillow bash, shield making, classic cars, facepainting, key game and much more. You may have had a knock on the door from a Cub or Scout in the last weeks selling brochures for £2 for entry. VisionZone 2023 (Solutions for low vision) – Tues 25 July, 10am-2pm: Come along to the open day, supporting low vision and hearing loss, in our church hall. There are opportunities to learn more about support services and groups. Meet your local charities and societies, ask questions and gain hands-on experience with products and technology to aid you in your daily activities. FREE entry.
Managing Anger and Conflict – Sat 24 June, 10am–12:30 pm: Do you ever get angry? What sort of things make you angry? Can we ever be ‘anger-free’? Do you, or anyone you know, have an issue with unresolved anger, and how does this affect you and the people around you? How do we manage anger – and hopefully resolve it? In the session we will try and address these questions and many more, led by Revd Peter Jackson at Godalming Baptist Church. Thank you to all our wonderful, faithful supporters. Your kindness and generosity are always so appreciated. This year they have already fed more than 4,000 people. This is a 50% increase on last year and more than double the number of people fed pre-pandemic. They are also seeing around 50 brand new clients each month in 2023 – up from between 30-40 first-time clients in previous non-covid years.
They really do need your support at the moment. Any items you can give, be it one or many, are gratefully received.
St Mary’s hosts a Community Fridge, not Foodbank, but we do accept donations which are taken directly to the Leatherhead Foodbank and go to local people in need.
Please ensure donations are sealed, in date and do not contain alcohol.
