Preaching Series: Sunday 6 February: Sharing Faith (What’s Missing in “The Gospel?”)
Community Fridge – Mondays 10-11am in the hall: We are delighted that the response to the community fridge has been really positive. We’re averaging 25 visitors each week which includes the wider Fetcham community outside St Mary’s. Community Fridges were set up primarily to prevent food waste. All the food is surplus and comes mainly from local supermarkets. Everyone can visit, please continue to spread the word and tell your friends, neighbours and family so we can prevent food going to landfill. If you’re interested in being part of the volunteer team, please contact Julie on julie@stmarysfetcham.org.uk
Homemade Stall – Sun 6 Feb: Do bring contributions of crafts, or home-baking for the Homemade Stall, in the church hall, between the 9.30 and 11.15 Services. We are also having our usual February ‘Christmas Present Amnesty’; if you received a present which just doesn’t fit the bill, we’ll be happy to find it a new home! New gifts only please. Do come and browse and see what you can find – and bring your wallet! We’re raising money for Homework Clubs and Apprenticeships in Kibera and the other slums in Nairobi.
World Day Of Prayer: Fri 4 Mar 2022 – “I KNOW THE PLANS I HAVE FOR YOU” This year’s service is a very special one as it has been written by Christian Women from England, Wales and Northern Ireland’. They have used the text from Jeremiah to reflect on some issues facing us today. The morning service at 10.30am will be held at Eastwick Road Church and the evening service at 7.30pm will be held here at St Mary’s and led by members of our congregation. Both services will be followed by refreshments. Everyone is very welcome, so do come and join us and be part of a great wave of prayer encircling the globe.
Lent Course: Tues 8 Mar to Tues 12 Apr, 7.30pm (7.45pm start) to 9pm – Growing Good is a 6 session course for church groups. Through flexible, interactive small group sessions, we explore how our churches can be faithful and fruitful in our local communities. Each session includes a bible reading, a short film, discussion and prayer, as well as research and stories from churches all across England.
Would you like to join the team? The Drop-In youth@stmarysfetcham.org.uk club. An exciting part of St Mary’s youth ministry is The Drop-In Youth club – held in the church hall on Mondays 4-5.30pm. It’s a space for young people to come after school to unwind over a game (table tennis is popular along with craft, computer games and board games!) or sit and chill on the sofas with a hot choc mountain! The aim of the team is to provide a safe, welcoming and encouraging space for young people – and whether it’s playing a game with a young person, sitting and chatting with them or serving refreshments there are different ways we can do that! If you’d like more information about The Drop-In or feel that being on the team is something you’d like to explore, then please get in contact with me (Nathan) at youth@stmarysfetcham.org.uk

Alpha @ The Bell: Unfortunately, there was not enough interest to make this course viable. Undeterred we plan to hold the 7 weeks course later in the year and we have started a list of interested people, so please continue to spread the word about Alpha.
Getting to know you – a visit to your home: Pouya would like to have the chance to visit you in your own home. This is a relaxed, informal opportunity to chat and get to know you as it is often difficult to get into a conversation when passing or on a Sunday. He has set aside some Sundays 2-3pm and Wednesday 10-11am. To book please contact Karen in the office.

Message from The Meeting Room: Thank you from all at The Meeting Room for the many donations of presents, chocolates and biscuits which were distributed on Christmas Day.
