Homemade Stall is back this Sun 6 Nov : We are very short of produce to sell, especially presents that folk may wish to buy for Christmas; might you be able to make something which can be sold this Sunday or Sunday 3rd  December?  Anything homemade will be gratefully received, whether it is knitted, made from fabric or card, baked, cooked, pickled or grown!  We are not doing a Christmas Raffle for Kenya this year, as we just don’t have the available manpower currently; we will however, be delighted to sell anything homemade, especially quality gifts.  We have raised over £1,300 so far this year and the PCC this week have very generously confirmed they will be supporting the Centre for Urban Mission once again so do continue to support Homework Clubs in Nairobi’s informal settlements and apprenticeships.  See you this Sunday between 10.45 and 11.30 with your purses!  Thank you.

Messy Church “God the Holy Spirit” – Fri 11 Nov, 3:30-5:30pm : As usual we will meet in the church hall to enjoy creativity, celebration and hospitality. This session’s theme is the last of a Trinity Series : God the Holy Spirit. Activities planned include balloon rocket, poppy falling spinner, windsocks, placemats, salt painting and more! Food will be meatballs, pasta, veg sticks, grapes, Instant Whip and chocolate buttons. All ages are welcome!

Remembrance Sunday – Sun 13 Nov, 10:45am :  Please join us as we hold our usual Act of Remembrance at the Fetcham Cenotaph from around 10.45am where wreaths will be laid and local uniformed organisations will attend.  We will then follow on with a service in church including a short talk from Nathan, our Youth Minister

Quiz Night – Sat 12 Nov, 7:30pm: Please book in advance for the FMLife Quiz Night in the church hall.  This is to raise funds for the charity Quicken Trust and specifically a young man called Shonie.  Tickets remain the same as before at £12 per person, which includes a dessert, tea and coffee.  You are welcome to BYO other food or drink.  Please pre-book and pay online, or contact julie@stmaryfetcham.org.uk to pay by cash or if you have any questions. Alternatively contact the Parish Office 01372 375000.  FMLife look forward to enjoying a fun evening with you!

Donations for Quiz Raffle:  In order to create some hampers to be used for the raffle, if you have any unwanted new or good as new gifts or small donations Julie would be very grateful.   Please them in the collection box in the Parish Office.  Thank you for your support.

Who Let The Dads Out? – Sat 19 Nov, 9 – 11.30am:  The last one this year, but will return in January.  Open to any men who would like to enjoy a bacon sandwich, hot drinks and the chance to chat.  You are welcome to come along with or without children!  There are lots of activities to keep everyone occupied.  No charge, but donations welcome.  Please contact office@stmarysfetcham.org.uk if you have any questions.  We look forward to seeing you there!

Afternoon Tea Party – Sat 26 Nov, 3-4.40pm:  This is the last session for 2022, restarting in January.  If you know someone in the senior community who you think would like to come, please tell them about this popular social.  Leaflets are in church, the hall, and on our website

The Well Reflective Service – Sun 27 Nov, 6:00-7:00pm: This is a pause at the end of one week and before the beginning of the next.  It is a space to simply say “Here I am” to God.  A time to allow your heart to open towards that invisible but ever-present author of life, and to drink from the living water that meets your needs and satisfies forever.  There is music, scripture, reflection, prayer and silence.  It is a safe place where all are welcome.

Footprints Baby and Toddler Group:  Our baby and toddler group now meets every Friday and welcomes bumps, babes and beyond.  The hall is the perfect space for young people to play safely whilst the grown-ups can chat and enjoy refreshments.  The team could do with a few more helpers to join a rota, either to be in the kitchen or out chatting with visitors.  Or could you please bake a cake so we can give our visitors a warm welcome?  If you would like to find out more please contact Sue McKinlay on families@stmarysfetcham.org.uk

Illuminate youth event:  On the evening of Fri 28th Oct we held a bonfire night youth event – which was loads of fun!  We ate hot dogs, waved sparklers (see picture), toasted marshmallows over the fire, drank hot choc and played silly games – a favourite was Human Connect 4…. which was absolute chaos (and of course loads of fun to play!)  We hope everyone who came along had a great time!

Christmas causes : We are collecting presents for various local causes again this Christmas:

    1) The Meeting Room’s Christmas Day Lunch at the village hall,

    2) the children of CAP Mole Valley (Christians Against Poverty) clients

    3) Surrey’s vulnerable teenagers

    4) Supermarket Gift Cards for the local supermarkets for B@titude clients.

There is no pressure for anyone to feel they should give anything, especially as we are also coping with the effects of inflation and are tightening our belts; If anyone does wish to give a new present (not second-hand please) do bring to the hall anytime between now and Monday 11th December. Full details by the big box in the hall or on the website. Thank you
